The Authentic Scholar Model bridges research and practice through project-based learning — functioning as both a “force multiplier” and summative assessment tool through pre-assessment, acceleration, and application. We share the research basis for the model as well as examples from mathematics and language arts classrooms in a PreK-12 school.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn how to support students through authentic practice.
Attendees will be able to give examples of ways to bring authentic practice into the classroom.
Attendees will gain knowledge in research supporting authentic practice as a tool for curriculum work.
