Criteria for Excellence: Maryland's Model for Program Evaluation and Improvement

To continually improve services for gifted students, high-quality evaluation must be systematically conducted, gathering data from multiple sources to assist stakeholders in making informed decisions. Using research-based standards and free resources, participants gain knowledge to help identify gaps in and opportunities for local program improvement. Attendees receive resources to guide their school or district gifted program self-evaluations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the purpose of program evaluation and understand the entire evaluation process.
  • Use research-based evaluation resources to gain knowledge that will help identify gaps in and opportunities for program improvement.
  • Apply Maryland’s model and NAGC standards to evaluate local gifted and talented programs.
