Teacher Agency Providing Support for Twice-Exceptional Learners

In this session, middle and high school teachers explore concepts and strategies addressing Twice-Exceptional (2e) learners’ needs. Teacher training focuses on agency to provide support for gifted learners' academic access and achievement. We also explore accommodations that consider the social-emotional supports students require to access learning with dignity and freedom from embarrassment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to apply strategies to support student achievement by providing access without causing embarrassment.
  • Participants will be able to recognize when and how to apply learning strategies for learning disabilities with their gifted learners that support students’ needs and accommodations.
  • Participants will be able to describe ways to develop relationships to increase 2e students’ academic outcomes.
