Chancellor Bridges Graduate School for Cognitive Diversity, California
Twice-Exceptional (2e) students have difficulty self-regulating, coping with high levels of anxiety, and feeling safe in classrooms. Learn strategies for creating 2e-friendly environments where 2e students become emotionally available to learn, find courage to overcome challenges, and engage in learning with confidence and enthusiasm. The focus of this session is on social-emotional learning strategies for use in classrooms.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the elements of 2e-friendly learning environments.
Use practical strategies to help students feel emotionally safe and self-regulated.
Recognize behavior as a child’s response to feeling safe rather than an intent to misbehave.
