If You’re Happy and You Know It: Complexities of SEL Among Young Gifted Children (Birth to 8)

Gifted children begin to gain social and interpersonal awareness during early childhood and continue to develop those skills throughout life. Practicing affective skills that translate to empathy, kindness, and consideration toward others must begin early with regular attention. Join this session with practical, hands-on strategies for developing Social-emotional Learning (SEL) skills among very young children.

Learning Objectives:

  • Parents and educators will know how to address SEL early with appropriate activities for advanced children, birth to age eight.
  • Parents and educators will know about appropriate programming design and details to enhance a gifted child’s personal growth and relationships with others.
  • Parents and educators in early childhood learning programs will know about collaborative methods to differentiate and meet the individual needs of advanced children.
