Underachievement continues to be a major problem among gifted and creative students but is often not recognized. Practical strategies for preventing and correcting problems at home and school are shared in this session. Topics include the growth mindset, challenging and creative curriculum, competition and collaboration, empowerment (while avoiding overempowerment), and reducing anxiety counterintuitively by encouraging creative thinking.
