This session provides classroom teachers with an easily-adapted program for infusing hands-on activities, STEAM, physical learning, and design thinking into the development of creative writing. From building a poem out of architectural Legos to making multimedia interpretations with circuits and Scratch, students are pushed to higher levels of creativity and flexible thinking in the way they look at language.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will make connections between creative thinking, writing techniques, engineering skills, and content area topics through the application of hands-on, design-based exploration.
Attendees will be able to adapt lessons and activities from this session to their own topics, objectives, and subject areas.
Attendees will be able to apply the concepts of this session to create new creative writing and STEAM activities aligned with their own subject areas.
