Unleashing the Genius Within: Tech and Pedagogy for Gifted Students' Research Potential

Join Duke University and Davidson College faculty as they share case studies of how technologies like Mathematica and Avogadro (an advanced molecule editor for designing therapeutics) help gifted high schoolers conduct original research virtually. Moderated by Pioneer Academics, this panel shows the potential of these technologies to create enhanced intellectual engagement that transcends the confines of the brick-and-mortar laboratory.

Learning Objectives:

  • Familiarize gifted educators with certain technologies, such as virtual environments and cutting-edge software, that can help engage gifted students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify and evaluate such technological tools and how to integrate these technologies into research or other pedagogies.
  • Assess the effectiveness of adopting such technologies for both classroom or remote learning.
