GLBTQ adolescents are strong, courageous, persistent, yet scared and alone. Everyday life is an ongoing dilemma of whether to fully express oneself and walk a solo path. Given the magnitude of the challenges facing GLBTQ gifted youth, supportive adults must help them acquire skills of daily self-care through monitoring their health and well-being holistically.
Learning Objectives:
Fully grasp the severity of the challenges facing gifted GLBTQ youth.
Realize the importance of recognizing, respecting, and responding to one's whole self in order to establish and maintain congruence, vitality, inner security, and stability.
Develop and teach a toolbox of perspectives, skills, choices, and affirmations for GLBTQ gifted youth to help them progress towards positive self esteem and personal care and well-being.
