What better way to improve gifted education than to hear directly from gifted students themselves? Find out how one Colorado school district developed a Gifted and Talented Youth Council comprised of gifted middle and high school students from diverse backgrounds. When we empower student voices and use their suggestions we can effect positive systemic change together!
Learning Objectives:
Participants will acquire an evidence-based understanding of the need for and benefits of empowering voice and self advocacy within gifted students.
Participants will learn about a successful, evidence-based framework for creating and facilitating a culturally-responsive advisory council driven by gifted students.
Participants will get templates for replicating the GT youth council in their own schools or districts.
