What does it mean to be a gifted artist? What characteristics and abilities should I look for? Come learn and explore what it means to be gifted in the arts through your own artistic capabilities. Participants explore resources created by the Colorado Department of Education in conjunction with national art experts and collaborate to apply artistic exercises in their own practice.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will analyze and evaluate research-based resources created by the Colorado Department of Education to identify ways they might be used to surface and nurture the potential of gifted artists
Participants will explore the characteristics that distinguish gifted artists and how these might inform their own practices in programming for students in the arts
Participants will engage in an artistic task to better understand how such tasks might be designed and used to elicit gifted artistic characteristics
