Using Tiered Supports for Gifted Education and Talent Development

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) are used in schools throughout the country to assist struggling learners. However, MTSS is designed to be used with ALL students, even our gifted and potentially gifted students. Learn how schools can effectively implement differentiation by tiers in order to support gifted education and talent development, thereby increasing equity in our gifted programs.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will understand how MTSS can apply to gifted education, talent development, and increased gifted program equity.
  • Attendees will explore a process to use MTSS to enhance talent development and gifted services in their school divisions.
  • Attendees will view examples of Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III differentiation.
