There is a recent surge of Black and Latino gifted students interested in STEM-related fields. Exploring historical inventions and technologies can connect students to a legacy that demonstrates STEM achievements through ancient history. This new perspective can connect students' cultural history to STEM and also shed light on centuries of contributions from African and Latino and Black inventors.
