This poster presentation compares richly-inclusive mentoring possibilities within key arts integration approaches for Twice-Exceptional (2e) early childhood learners, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, and Bank Street arts-based teaching philosophies. We introduce teaching resources that can be accessed widely by preservice teachers/teachers-in-training as well as by those teachers seeking professional development in meaningful arts integration for young 2e learners.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will be able to define and describe major foundational arts integration approaches and philosophies that support the needs of diverse 2e learners in early childhood settings.
Attendees will be able to compare and contrast arts integration approaches in terms of their inclusive capacities for mentoring and serving learning goals of 2e students in their own communities.
Attendees will know about several curated teaching resources related to arts integration that support innovative 2e learning in early childhood education.
