Imagine what young children would learn if classrooms were designed like workshops! Ideas would be shared and revisited and trial and error would be valued. Participants build this metaphor together as they see images and examples of young students collaboratively engaged in investigations, problem-solving, and representation of their creative ideas which places no limits on their learning.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will gain strategies and ideas to lift ceilings on learning when presenting mandatory curriculum to children who may have already mastered it.
Participants will explore changes they can make in their own classrooms to value the collaborative process of revisiting ideas and creating representations of shared knowledge.
Participants will experience strength in the workshop mindset as they collaboratively build and represent their ideas for making changes with others in the session.
