Thinking is central to deepening student learning. Presenters share a process for designing curriculum that escalates active learning and cognitive complexity by flipping required curriculum to inquiry and investigations that tap into what students deem culturally relevant and meaningful. Specifically addressed are design strategies for addressing universal concepts, complex thinking in various disciplinary fields, and assessments that document student learning.
