This session shares the results of a qualitative case study investigating how an independent school for gifted learners created a culture of acceptance for Twice-Exceptionality (2e) and a framework of supports for parents, teachers, and students that maximized the potential of their 2e learners. Presenters share the framework of supports and strategies for working with 2e learners and their families.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify factors that contribute to a school culture of acceptance for 2e learners
  • Understand the importance of supporting all stakeholder groups (parents, teachers, and 2e students) to maximize the potential of 2e learners
  • Understand the importance of a collaborative parent-teacher partnership for working effectively with 2e students
