Nurturing Creative Giftedness Through Creative Problem Solving and Future Problem Solving

Preparing gifted students to be productive global citizens requires equipping them with effective problem-solving skills. E. Paul Torrance developed Future Problem Solving (FPS) for students to practice creative problem-solving techniques that address complex community problems and futuristic topics. In this session, participants examine creative giftedness, apply creative problem-solving strategies, and evaluate the impact of FPS programs for diverse P-12 gifted students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze creatively gifted behaviors in diverse children and adolescents
  • Apply Creative Problem Solving (CPS) strategies in a variety of P-12 classroom settings
  • Evaluate the effects of FPS programs in P-12 schools
