Curriculum Facilitator
Steubenville City Schools, Ohio
Heather Hoover is currently one of Steubenville City School’s District school facilitators, who oversees the reading and math curriculum in her designated building. In addition to this, she is the district’s PLTW Launch Lead Teacher, district coordinator for their Destination Imagination, and the district’s 4-H program. Heather is professionally certified in Elementary Education PreK-5, and holds endorsements in both Reading and Gifted Education for grades K-12. Heather enjoys taking her students beyond the classroom and engaging them in lessons that promote and understanding of real-world issues and possible solutions that are challenging, meaningful, and relevant. She believes that it is never too early to start preparing students for global concerns, where they can gain experience and skills that lead to critical thinking engagement, that are necessary for their future. Heather believes in foundational skills for a student to be successful, but also understands that educators must embrace change, encourage innovation, and foster creativity- not just in their students, but in themselves as well.
