K-12 Gifted Supervisor

Coral is a K-12 Gifted Specialist for Pinellas County Schools in sunny Tampa Bay, Florida. She oversees curriculum and teacher training for over 200 gifted and talented teachers as well as eligibility and services for over 12,000 gifted and talented learners. A former middle school gifted teacher turned curriculum nerd, she is passionate about putting research based strategies and theory into action in the schools and programs she supervises. She advocates for providing all kids exactly what they need in order to grow. She believes that the work that we do, as gifted and talented educators, is integral for gifted students to grow but ultimately is good for all kids. She, her husband and her two gifted boys love to spend their free time on the boat getting salty and sandy whenever they can. Her personal interests include boating, fishing, reading, organizing and listening to podcasts. Her career interests include asking better questions, depth & complexity, differentiation, critical and creative thinking, enrichment, talent development and all things curriculum.
