Leigh M. Tolley, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor, Secondary Education in the Department of Educational Curriculum and Instruction (EDCI) of the College of Education & Human Development at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL Lafayette), where she holds the Leonder & Louizette Labbe—Sy & Laura Arceneaux/BORSF Endowed Professorship in Education. She primarily teaches undergraduate preservice teachers across all secondary content areas about developing a positive classroom environment and using instructional design processes to engage and support all learners. In addition, she is the Program Co-Coordinator of the UL Lafayette Mentor Teacher Training program, which prepares PreK-12 teachers across Louisiana to earn their state Mentor Teacher credentials and to support their preservice, novice, and experienced colleagues. Dr. Tolley holds a B.A. in English, with a concentration in Celtic Studies and a minor in Anthropology, and an M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education, English from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University.
