gifted intervention specialist
Loveland Elementary School, Ohio
I live in Loveland, Ohio with my husband of 33 years. We have 2 adult daughters; one whom is getting married June 2024. My hobbies include reading, traveling, desktop publishing of educational materials, and writing. I have an Associate of Arts from the University of Cincinnati, Bachelor of Arts from Northern Kentucky University, Master of Arts from the University of Phoenix, and my gifted endorsement from University of Cincinnati. I earned my National Board Certification as an early childhood generalist in 2005 and renewed in 2015. My current role is as a Gifted Intervention Specialist, teaching 3rd and 4th graders in Loveland, Ohio. I am the proud recipient of the 2015 Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts Outstanding Educator Award and 2013 NCTE Donald H. Graves Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Writing as well as being a 2015 PBS Digital Innovator and a Google Level 1 Certified Teacher. I have been an Adjunct Professor with Ashland University, OH as well. I have proudly presented for NAGC, International Literacy Association, International Society of Technology in Education, and National Council of Teachers of English, as well as the Ohio State affiliates.
What makes my teaching role unique is that I provide gifted services through the teaching of reading to all identified 3rd and 4th graders for our district. I love my job, love working with children, and love getting new ideas from colleagues when I present!
