Education Program Specialist for Gifted Services

Jeffrey Shoemaker, M.Ed., has earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University, and a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education from Bowling Green State University. As a teacher for the Lima City Schools for 18 years he was a general education teacher, and a gifted intervention specialist spending almost all that time in the middle school setting. Jeffrey was involved with Ohio Association Gifted Children (OAGC) in the Teacher Division for several years presenting at OAGC Annual Fall Conference and Teacher Academy. He has written several articles for the OAGC Review. Jeffrey joined the Ohio Department of Education as a Program Specialist for Gifted Services in the Office for Exceptional Children in July 2018, and provides support to districts and families across Ohio.
