Deb Douglas, M.S. Ed, consults and advocates for gifted children and teens, specializing in workshops that help students take charge of their own education. She is a frequent presenter at state, national, and international conferences. Her original research on empowering gifted students to self-advocate has been published in The Roeper Review and Parenting for High Potential. She is the author of "The Power of Self-Advocacy for Gifted Learners," as well as numerous articles, and the NAGC TIP Sheet on Self-advocacy. Her next book, "No More Dreams Deferred" co-edited with Dr. Joy Davis, focuses on the barriers to self-advocacy for underserved gifted learners.
