Sarah M. Ciupek (she/her/hers)

Ideaventions Academy for Mathematics and Science, Virginia

Sarah Ciupek teaches middle and high school science at Ideaventions Academy in Reston, Virginia. She primarily teachers biology and chemistry, but has also taught a wide range of science-based elective courses such as the science of Harry Potter, CSI Chemistry, and Neuroscience in the Movies. She even gets the opportunity to use her interest in the arts, co-directing school musicals and offering courses and clubs such as sewing, a cappella, and harp. Teaching at a school with a high percentage of gifted and twice exceptional students requires Sarah to innovate every day in order to keep students engaged and excited to learn, and she looks forward to sharing her experiences with the NAGC community. Prior to joining Ideaventions, Sarah earned a PhD in neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine.
