Antonia (Toni) Szymanski is an Associate Professor of Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University. She received her Ph.D. in the Psychological and Quantitative Foundations of Education from the University of Iowa. Dr. Szymanski has published on the needs of gifted students and how teachers can improve their educational experiences. She does extensive work regarding advanced diverse students. Her work focuses on the psychological and social needs of learners, mindfulness, creativity, and talent development. Dr. Szymanski has presented internationally and nationally on the needs of gifted students. She teaches graduate courses on the psychological needs of gifted, creativity, and underrepresented gifted students. Dr. Szymanski has devoted her professional career to improving the educational experience for students. She is on the editorial board for Teaching for High Potential and was the NAGC Education and Research Network Program director 2021, Research Gala Chair, 2022 and Dissertation Award Chair 2023.
