Dr. Miwon Choe, Ph.D., is a professor of art education in the Department of Art & Design at Western Kentucky University. She coordinates Art2Dream Art in Education program that emphasizes P-12, community cross-sector collaborations, and service learning programs. Dr. Choe has spent significant amount time in Cuba over the past decades for multitudes on-going cross-cultural community projects; CreArte: Illustate a Dream, Experimental Art School, and Cuban Teachers Association resulted in culminating cross-institutional art exhibits in 2019-2020, Cuba Amor: Los Rostros y Los Cuentos del Camino (The Island of My Love: Stories and Faces of Cuba) in celebration of the yearlong "International Year of Cuba" at Western Kentucky University and Kennesaw State University. Current multi-year collaborative project includes "Sisters on the Bridge: Islamic Art of Creative Empathy and Human Understanding" with Dr. Mona Hussein from Egypt and Dr. Sandra Bird from KSU.
