Shirley Farrell has a B.S. in Horticulture, M.S. in Elementary Education, Class A certification in Gifted Education, and a PhD in Instructional Leadership/Instructional Technology with an emphasis in gifted edication. She describes herself as a geeky nerd or nerdy geek when it comes to technology. She has been in gifted education for over 30 years as a gifted specialist, district coordinator, state department director, and now a university professor. She provides PD on using technology and integrates various technologies into her online courses for the Masters in Gifted Education and post-masters certification pathway. she is the immediate past president of the Alabama Association for Gifted Children’s (AAGC) and Program chair for Computers and Technology Network for NAGC. She loves checking out new technologies, web sites, and apps for teachers to integrate into their classrooms. When she is not teaching or geeking our on the Internet, she bird watches, crochets, and works in her garden.
