Gifted Eligibility and Services Lead

Ty Campbell has worked for nearly 3 decades in public schools as an educator. She holds an M.Ed. in General Education and an endorsement in Gifted Education. She is currently serving in her 6th year as the Eligibility and Gifted Services Lead for the Hamilton County Department of Education, one of the larger school districts in the state of Tennessee. She began her teaching career in an elementary regular education classroom setting teaching high poverty, low performing students. For 10 years she served as an itinerant gifted teacher serving students grades K-12 at various times. Ty has represented Tennessee in the renorming of the national Gifted Praxis Exam and served as a National Praxis test item writer. She has presented in district, state, and national capacities, including Tennessee Association for the Gifted, National Association for the Gifted, Council for Exceptional Children, and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. Through her work, Ty is a passionate advocate to identify under-represented gifted students and provide quality instruction and services to all gifted students. Ty has 3 children, 1 grandchild she fondly refers to as Buddy, and loves to travel and spend time with friends and family.
