Dr. Lauri Kirsch is currently the Past-President of NAGC. From 2005-2018 Lauri was the Gifted Program Coordinator/Supervisor for Hillsborough County (Florida), the nation’s eighth largest school district, where she created programs recognized nationally for equity and diversity. Her work as a coordinator is featured in Designing Gifted Education Programs and Services: From Purpose to Implementation (2017, Brulles & Peters).
Lauri has been a presenter at the NAGC convention annually since 2007, leading more than 30 conference sessions. In 2014, Lauri received the NAGC Gifted Coordinator Award.
As an educator since 1981, her experiences have included administrator, gifted teacher, curriculum developer, professional learning facilitator, doctoral student, conference presenter, researcher, and gifted advocate. Lauri earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Through her experiences, Dr. Kirsch has found that leadership is the critical element for success in any organization, from the classroom, to a school district, to a state affiliate group. Kirsch says her goal is to share a commonsense message that may inspire and guide others in supporting the children who will be the leaders in our world’s future.
