Elizabeth Rowell is an elementary gifted education teacher in DeSoto County, MS. She began her career in Memphis, TN in 1998 after graduating from the University of Memphis. After 5 years in the general education classroom, Mrs. Rowell earned her gifted certification while teaching in the same elementary school she once attended as a gifted student. In 2014, Mrs. Rowell moved to DeSoto County, MS and continued her passion for educating gifted students in a rural, Title One school. Over the past 9 years, Mrs. Rowell has become more adventurous as an educator and has found a love for unit development. She creates units that are fluid, multidisciplinary, and include activities, lessons, programs, procedures, and routines which allow students to try new things, be vulnerable, and make mistakes without judgement. When she isn't teaching, Mrs. Rowell serves on several committees in her school, leads the student news crew, and spearheads many fundraising campaigns.
