Dean of Students. High Ability Coordinator
Yorktown School Corporation, Indiana
The 15 years that I have spent in education have been transformative and evolutionary. For 14 years I have been a social studies teacher in the secondary classroom. During that time I was able to earn my masters degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in gifted and talented. Since working on that degree I have seen the way that I perceive education change drastically. In the past year as an administrator I have been able to take what I have learned and applied in my own classroom and adopt a framework that allows me to work shoulder to shoulder with my high ability staff to produce top notch experiences for our students. As a lifelong learner I love to research and discover new ways to promote what is best for my students. During my tenure as an educator I have also presented at several conferences including the Indiana High School Psychology Teachers Association, ILEAD, Be Epic, as well as leading several professional development courses. The journey I have experienced thus far as an educator has been a blessing and I am looking forward to collaborating and networking with others at NAGC!
