Liam Dawson

Elementary Principal
St. James Public Schools, Minnesota

Liam Dawson holds an EdS in Educational Leadership from Concordia University - St. Paul. He currently serves as the elementary principal at 2020 National Blue Ribbon School, Northside Elementary School in rural St. James, MN. He also serves on the Board for Learning Forward-Minnesota. As part of the Jacob K. Javits federal research grant, Liam and his team have been able to establish a Gifted and Talented program at Northside Elementary when one did not exist. Talent Development (TD) programming at Northside Elementary has evolved from only focusing on math programming to the inclusion of TD programming in the area of Computer Science. Over the past three years, he has garnered support from his superintendent and school board for talent development programming, provided professional development opportunities for staff around gifted education, developed a TD Handbook with his team and he has been an advocate for providing equitable services to each and every student. He resides in St. James, MN with his wife and three kids.
