Stacy Van Horn is a Senior Lecturer and Core Faculty member in the Counselor Education and School Psychology Program at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Van Horn also serves as Coordinator for both the School Counseling Track Program and the Graduate Career Counseling
Certificate. She earned her graduate and undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education, a Specialist degree in Counselor Education, along with being awarded her Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Prior to her position as
a Counselor Educator, Dr. Van Horn worked as a certified school counselor for over ten years in Orange County Public Schools working with diverse students, teachers, and families in Central Florida. Dr. Van Horn teaches graduate students at both the masters and doctoral level primarily in school counseling, career development, and supervision. She has been awarded the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award for the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE) and has earned three Teaching Incentive Program (TIP) awards. Her research interests include the role of school counselors in addressing career and college readiness, the impact of service learning and experiential practices in higher education, and the training and supervision of school counselors working with diverse populations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA) and Trustee/ Board of Directors of the National Career Development Association (NCDA).
