Dr. Carla Brigandi is an Associate Professor at West Virginia University, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Educational Psychology, Research Methods, and Gifted and Special Education. She received her PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut, with a focus on Gifted Education and Talent Development. Prior to that, she worked as a secondary school mathematics teacher and gifted education program coordinator. She is chair-elect for the National Association for Gifted Children Research and Evaluation Network, an Editorial Board Member for the Journal for the Education of Gifted, and the Principal Investigator on Project Appalachian Coders, a US Department of Education Javits-funded project. Dr. Brigandi’s scholarship aims to improve educational opportunities for students with high academic ability by researching topics such as professional learning, rurality, STEM, identification practices, and evidence-based enrichment practices. She is passionate about Renzulli and Reis’ Schoolwide Enrichment Model.
