Dr. Julie Lamb-Milligan, a native Arkansan, has a B.S.E. in Elementary Education, Mid-Level Math & Science, a M.S.E. in Gifted, Talented, & Creative Education, and a Ph.D. in Special Education (Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education) and Curriculum and Instruction. Among her educational accomplishments, she has received several curriculum writing awards at the state level and one national award presented on capitol hill during the Clinton administration. She has received an Outstanding Alumni Award from Arkansas State University and an Educator of the Year Award from AGATE – Arkansans for Gifted and Talented Education.
As an educator of 34 years, she has taught math and science, facilitated for G.T.C. children K-12, and has been a school administrator. She is currently a full Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Special Education at Arkansas State University.
She has published numerous articles. Some of these have appeared in Exceptional Children, Roeper Review, and Rural Special Education Quarterly, Educator, and Understanding Our Gifted just to name a few. Topics for research and expertise include: Gifted Girls and Mathematics, Identifying Giftedness in Rural Environments, Enrichment for Primary Children and Twice Exceptional. She has published three editions of her book entitled Assessment of Giftedness: A Concise and Practical Guide. She is a popular presenter in the southern states and loves speaking to classroom teachers, GT teachers and stakeholders.
