Leny Philipose, M.Ed., is a GT/Humanities teacher at Wylie High School in North Texas. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. from the University of North Texas in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Gifted and Talented Education. She graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in English Literature and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction for Secondary Education with a concentration in English. Leny develops curriculum for secondary English and Humanities courses in her school district. She has been awarded the Teacher of the Year awards for her school and district, named the Outstanding Humanities Teacher of Texas, and more recently was honored by being named the Texas Educator of the Gifted. Leny’s current research interests include the intersection of gifted education, culture, social-emotional development, and gifted students’ post-secondary transition from K-12 schools.
