Dr. Erin Lane is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at the University of Iowa. Erin has almost two decades of experience in K-12 education working as a teacher, administrator, and school counselor. Her last K-12 position prior to earning her Ph.D. included serving as the school counselor for junior high and high school gifted education students in a large school district as well as assisting with equitable identification for gifted education programming. Since receiving her doctorate, Erin has prepared future school and mental health counselors to meet the unique needs of gifted students they serve during their professional practice. Dr. Lane's research areas include school counselor advocacy for underserved students and programming for under-resourced and/or marginalized gifted students.
