Kirsten Maloney is the K-12 Coordinator of Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) in Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia. She has worked in gifted education for over 15 years in a variety of roles, including - central office, elementary resource teacher, and as both gifted and general education classroom teacher in Virginia and Maryland. Kirsten is a National Board Certified Teacher. She has a Masters degree in Educational Psychology with an Emphasis on Gifted from the University of Virginia, Educational Leadership certification from the George Washington University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at the University of Virginia studying leadership for equity and excellence Title I advanced academic programs.
