Cheryl McCullough currently serves as the K-12 Supervisor for Gifted Services in Arlington Public Schools in Virginia. She served as the State Representative on the Board of Directors for NAGC, President and Past President for Virginia Association for the Gifted and was also a member on the Virginia Advisory for the Education of the Gifted. In addition, she served on the Virginia Future Problem Solving (FPS) Executive Board and was awarded “Mover and Shaker” for her work with FPS. She has been working in the field of gifted education for over 31 years in various roles including gifted specialist, gifted center teacher, SEM specialist, adjunct professor at the University of Virginia, and CASENEX online instructor. She has presented at NAGC, NCNC, Va Gifted conferences and other state and local events on topics focusing on curriculum and strategies for gifted learners, Young Scholars and increasing diversity in gifted programs, twice exceptional learners, and student engagement. She earned her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification and is also an Adaptive Schools agency trainer for Thinking Collaborative. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys being at the beach, cooking, running, reading, traveling, watching her Virginia Tech Hokies play football and basketball and spending time with her family at their restaurant, Fellini’s in Norfolk, Virginia.
