Alia Pineda Medina is a former pre-service teacher who deferred entering the classroom after completing her teaching training in NYC to learn more about diverse student populations and how best to serve them. Based on her experiences, her research interests are understanding pre-service teachers' perspectives on gifted education and twice-exceptionality.
