Frank C. Worrell, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where he serves as Faculty Director of the School Psychology Program, the Academic Talent Development Program, and the California College Preparatory Academy. His areas of expertise include at-risk youth, cultural identities, scale development, talent development, time perspective, and the translation of psychological research findings into practice. Author of over 300 scholarly works, Dr. Worrell is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, the American Educational Research Association, and five divisions of the American Psychological Association, and an elected member of the Society for the Study of School Psychology and the National Academy of Education. A former editor of Review of Educational Research, Dr. Worrell is a recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award from the National Association for Gifted Children, the Distinguished Contributions to Research Award from Division 45 of APA (the Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity, and Race), the Outstanding International Psychologist Award from Division 52 of APA (International Psychology), an Outstanding School Psychologist Award from the California Association of School Psychologists, and the Palmarium Award in Gifted Education from the Morgridge College of Education, University of Denver. Recipeint of the 2023 Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Profession of School Psychology by the Council of Directors of School Psychology Programs, Dr. Worrell is the 2023 Past President of the American Psychological Association and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Heidelberg University in June 2023.
