Gifted and Talented Teacher
Silvermine Dual Language Magnet School, Connecticut
I am an elementary school educator with a special interest in project based learning and gifted multilingual learners (MLs). This is my 5th year as the Gifted and Talented teacher at Silvermine Dual Language School in Norwalk, Connecticut. In this role I have had the opportunity to work with a large population of gifted MLs and to make efforts to reverse the disproportionate rates of identification of gifted MLs within our school and district. My coursework has also given me insight into working with this population; I have an MA in Curriculum and Instruction and a Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education and Talent Development from the University of Connecticut along with a TESOL certification. I look forward to sharing my experiences and to learning alongside other participants at this year’s NAGC conference.
