Academically Intellectually Gifted Teacher

Trinette Atri is a National Board Certified Talent Development Teacher (K-5) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to her current role in the classroom, she was the Secondary AIG Specialist for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district. While in that role, she served as Admissions Coordinator of the Horizons program for highly and profoundly gifted students in CMS. As an Adjunct Professor at Queens University of Charlotte for two years, she taught classroom teachers the university courses required for gifted licensure. She also currently serves as Director of the Spectrum of the Arts program - a summer program designed to meet the needs of students who are gifted in visual art, drama, dance, music and creative writing.
She received her BA in Elementary Education and Human Development from Boston College. She received her MA in Peace Studies from the University of Bradford in Bradford, West Yorkshire in England. She holds K-12 Academically or Intellectually Gifted Licensure from the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) and Curriculum Instructional Specialist Licensure from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW).
Fun Facts: She is a self-proclaimed "Swiftie" and geek who loves all things Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and sci-fi/fantasy. She also loves binge-watching shows on Netflix and Hulu and reading all kinds of books! She works hard to make her lessons fun, engaging, and relevant to students.
