Lisa Aguilar is a Special Education Specialist for Gadsden Independent School District (GISD). She holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Social Science Composite from Wayland Baptist University and a Masters of Arts in Gifted Education from Grand Canyon University. She has 20 years of teaching experience from Deaf Education preschool to Special and Gifted Education in high school. She currently supports campus staff in implementing the Case Study Approach for Gifted Identification and provides professional development to district staff on special education and gifted topics, including critical thinking/problem solving and twice-exceptional learners. She also served on the GISD Gifted Advisory Committee from 2016 to present and publicity chair of the South-Central New Mexico Association of Gifted from 2017 to 2021. She is a presenter and organizer for the local Gifted Institute from 2021 to present.
