Hasan Akdeniz is a biology teacher for gifted and talented students. He is a postdoctoral researcher for the Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University. His research centers on developing creative problem-solving and entrepreneurial/innovation skills in gifted students under the supervision of Prof. Julia Link Roberts. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Technology and Curriculum and Instruction from Gazi University in Turkey. Driven by his passion for understanding and enhancing the learning experiences of gifted and talented students, Dr. Akdeniz went on to complete a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Gazi University. His doctoral research focused on action research about developing habits of mind that gifted and talented students use while learning biology lessons. Continuing his academic pursuits, Dr. Akdeniz obtained a second Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Gazi University. His dissertation focused on creative problem-solving studies in the science and art center, utilizing action research methodologies. This research explored innovative approaches to fostering creativity and problem-solving skills among students.
Throughout his career, Dr. Akdeniz has held various leadership positions, including serving as the Coordinator of Teachers of Gifted Students and Curriculum Director at the Ministry of National Education in Ankara, Turkey. In these roles, he played a pivotal role in developing and implementing programs to support the educational needs of gifted students. Outside of his academic pursuits, Dr. Akdeniz is the founder of EduResearchLab, a platform dedicated to promoting research and innovation in education. Hasan's work focuses on creativity, creative problem-solving, habits of mind, instructional intervention, and curriculum development, particularly in gifted education.
