Joyce E. Kyle Miller, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A & M University-Commerce and has taught English and Spanish in school districts throughout Texas. Dr. Miller holds the Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish, the Master’s degree in Secondary Education and the PhD in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction and has completed post-doctoral studies in Gifted Education at the University of North Texas and the University of Connecticut-Storrs. Dr. Miller developed the gifted and talented graduate program at A&M Commerce and teaches the online courses designed to prepare teachers for State certification in gifted and talented education and for those seeking graduate degrees with an emphasis in gifted education and secondary education. She serves as advisor to educators pursuing Masters and Doctoral, has served on Southern Association Accreditation teams and conducts professional development for educators in gifted education and cultural diversity. She has served as a Board member, elected officer for the Texas Association for Gifted and Talented (TAGT) and as an elected USA delegate to the World Council for the Gifted and Talented. Dr. Miller’s publication agenda includes issues addressing identification and social and emotional needs of gifted children of color, TAGT Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) Network member, and she currently serves as the Chair of the DEIA Committee at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
