AJ Bullard, Ph.D. serves as Visiting Faculty of Educational Psychology and University Supervisor for Education Majors at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Bullard is a former gifted upper elementary and middle school teacher of mathematics and science, licensed by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. She holds a 1) Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College, 2) Master of Science from Central Michigan University, and 3) Master of Education (Quantitative Methodology) and 4) Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Psychology (Gifted and Creative Education) from the University of Georgia (UGA), with Graduate Certificates in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her research focuses on equitable access to K-12 gifted and advanced education programs, STEM identity development, and postsecondary STEM education/pre-collegiate medical training for underserved students. She has presented her findings at national and state conferences including the American Educational Research Association, the National Association for Gifted Children, and the Georgia Association for Gifted Children. Her collegiate teaching experience includes Master and Education Specialist level gifted education, multicultural education, motivational theories, and research design courses; undergraduate educational psychology and child development courses; and professional development for K-12 gifted, on-level, and special education teachers. In 2023, Dr. Bullard received the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award in Gifted and Creative Education from the University of Georgia's Department of Educational Psychology and the Carolyn Callahan Doctoral Student Award from the National Association for Gifted Children.
