Mr. Linkous has 27 years of educational experience, including the last 4 as part of the Superintendent’s cabinet as an Assistant Superintendent of Leadership and Learning and Chief of Staff. Prior to this he served in various roles as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and school support officer.
Mr. Linkous has a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in Secondary Education from Park University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Denver and has completed a Superintendent Licensure Program from Wichita State University and is currently working on his Doctorate with Wichita State University. Mr. Linkous is a bilingual educator who began his career as a bilingual social studies/ English as a second language teacher in the Denver Public Schools. He was an assistant principal at the middle and high school levels and was principal of three middle schools. He has gone on to hold central office leadership positions in the Houston Independent School District, Roosevelt School District # 66, Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, and Arlington Public Schools.
Prior to joining the Arlington Public Schools, Mr. Linkous was assistant superintendent Principal Leadership and Development with the Roosevelt RSD # 66 Elementary District in Arizona and the Chief of Staff in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools. While working as the Chief of Staff for the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, he led work on the district’s Strategic Plan as well as leading efforts to collaboratively create a Re-Entry plan for students and staff to return to campuses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. He currently supervises the Planning and Evaluation department, Policy, strategic outreach, district policy review and special projects for the superintendent.
