Access and awareness of gifted services is a necessary first step to closing equity gaps in gifted education. Identification for gifted services is limited if access and awareness are limited. Attendees of this session gain a better understanding of good practices via district websites to ensure accessibility and availability of information about gifted identification and services for all students.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will be able to successfully evaluate the availability and accessibility of information regarding gifted identification and services via their school district website.
Attendees will be able to consider website design and user-friendliness to improve equitable practices in their own district's gifted programming.
Attendees will know what information is needed and how to effectively place information on district websites to ensure all students have access to gifted eligibility criteria and participation guidelines.
